Weather conditions were less than ideal on Monday evening for this fixture with strong winds and the threat of heavy rain. The wind certainly played its part in the match but thankfully the rainfall was brief.
Abbey Rangers had the wind in the first half and shortly after throw in worked the ball into a scoring position and took the first point of the game. There was not much between the sides for the next twenty minutes with strong play from the Grange midfield. Scores were almost one for one at each end, but a two goals for Rangers to end the half meant it was 2-6 to 0-6 at the break.
The second half saw Rangers extend that lead convincingly. They had a lot of strength and fresh legs on the bench that made all the difference into the wind, running out 10-14 to 2-10 winners over a young Grange team.
