Under 16 League Division.4 Caragh 2:09 Cúchulainn Gaels 4:22.
Played over the Easter weekend, this was a game of two very different halves as Conor O’Loughlin put in an awesome display, scoring 1-13, as Cúchulainn Gaels guaranteed themselves a league semi final spot with a second half display which simply stunned Caragh by game end. At half time, Caragh enjoyed a two point lead but with a couple of positional switches, the game changed utterly. Conor Hyland moved to midfield and stemmed a massive tide as Caragh had simply pounded through the middle in the first half, where Caraghs Jake Corrigan helped himself to thyree goals and a point. Another goal by Wes Heavey compounded Caraghs dominance.
Cue O’Loughlin and his scoring spree. With just three points from frees, he helped himself to a goal and ten from play. Added to a goal and three from Hyland, this was the Conor and Conor show. Another Conor, Conor Mulholland, was introduced at half time for Gaels and he tagged on three great points also. Jack Behan and Dean Frehill added goals for Cúchulainn Gaels as they ran out deserved winners.
Refereed well by John McLoughlin. Caragh were best served by Jake Corrigan, Wes Heavey and Tim Barron while Cúchulainn Gaels best were Conor O’Loughlin, Conor Hyland, and Alex MaGuire.
