Kildangan v St.Laurences - 20-8-2011The Under 11’s travelled to St. Laurence's on Saturday afternoon for the opening round of the Under 11 Autumn League.This was always going to be a testing fixture but missing a number of players made the job all the more difficult. The home team opened with an early goal before good work by Eoin O’Fearghail ended with a Robert McGrath point for Kildangan. St.Laurence's went on to dominate the remainder of the first half as Kildangan seemed to be stuck in second gear. Another Robert McGrath point was followed by a goal from midfielder Lara Gilbert who finished the half well.As the second half progressed Oran Phelan and Aoibheann Scully came more into the game and Kildangan started to play as they can. Robert McGrath converted two 45’s in quick succession, one finding its way into the top corner of the net, and followed with another point from play shortly afterwords. DJ O’Toole, Hannah White, Tadgh Sheerin and Daniel Gilbert tried hard in the closing stages but the home team ran out winners on a scoreline of 5.7 to 2.4
