Having beaten Carbury and Confey away the Gaels finally had a home match to Cappagh played in Athgarvan and for the third successive game the wind was a factor. The Gaels won the toss and were straight out of the blocks with some long range points and a brace of goals, although the swirling wind sent several shots just wide of the post they were playing with confidence. Cappagh worked hard into the wind and eventually got their rewards with a goal and a point to leave the Gaels 9 points in front at the interval on a score line of 2:07 to 1:01.
It looked like the the second half was going to be a different game as Cappagh had the wind on their backs, however it was the Gaels who came out from the throw in and went immediately on the attack to score a goal. From there they never gave up and reeled off score after score despite playing into the wind. In fairness to the young Cappagh side they never gave up and were best served by Geoff Flanagan, David Murphy and Alan Finn. Best for the Gaels was Evan Halford, Caoimhin Doolin, Conor Mullholland, Ryan Moran and Luke Barry.
Cúchulainn Gaels Scorers; Luke Barry 3-0, Ryan Moran 2-2, Conor Hyland 1-3, Shane Smyth 1-2, Cormac O'Mahoney 1-0 ,Robert Hanley 1-0, Caoimhin Doolin 0-2 and Conor Mullholland 0-2.
