Abbey Rangers v Milltown Under 17 Championship 12th October 2019
Well done to our under 17 footballers who opened their under 17 league campaign with a win away to Milltown on Saturday.
Milltown dominated the opening quarter and led 0.6 to 0.1 at the mid point of the half but a strong finish saw us go in 0.8 to 0.5 down at the break.
The winning of the game was in the opening three minutes of the second half when we scored 1.2 without reply with the goal coming from Cian Murtagh. From there on it was point for point and Milltown grabbed an equaliser as we entered the second minute of injury time.
From the kick out Daniel Gilbert gathered the break and struck a long distance point that needed the assistance of the inside of the upright to go over to seal a dramatic win on a scoreline of 1.11 to 0.13.
