The home side got off the mark early and were a couple of goals to the good a few minutes in. Abbey Rangers were under pressure from then on and by half time it was difficult to see a way back. The weather also played a big part with the rain making handling very tricky. Dylan Fitzgerald scored a goal and a point and Daniel Gilbert got the other two. Shane Lawler put in a huge shift at full back and later on at midfield and was Rangers' man of the match. On the day, Castledermot were worthy winners with good skill throughout the team and this showed in the 7-11 to 1-3 scoreline.
The Rangers travel to Castlemitchell for the third and final round on Sunday.
