Club Kildare: the Players need your help

It's been a great month for Kildare football. The Juniors winning a Leinster title which followed with some very impressive displays by the seniors against Laois and Meath. Kildare have shown that they are serious all Ireland contenders. They have a solid defence and high scoring forwards, their work rate on and off the pitch is phenomenal.This does not come over night, the players have worked hard to get to where they are now. There is high costs involved in this. Players make huge sacrifices, training 2-3 nights a week, and going to the gym in their spare time. They may be amateur sportsmen but prepare like professionals.

The financial cost in running inter county teams is astronomical. There's gear, training equipment, buses to matches, training weekends, physio bills, doctors bills, food after training and matches.

Over the last year or so the players have equipped a gym in the K Club, filled with quality equipment to equip them for the hard championship ahead. Club Kildare has worked with the players in making sure their needs are met. Club Kildare support the team on the field and off the field by fundraising to meet the costs of the team. As one can imagine we aren't talking a few hundred euro.

Club Kildare has various membership packages available (junior Kildare to adult , husband and wife to corporate) which has exclusive privileges for it's members.

We also run various fundraisers throughout the year. At the moment we have a draw taking place on the 8th of August with prizes including a 7 night cruise, laptop, all Ireland tickets, a round of golf for four. Tickets are €20 and you also get a Club Kildare car sticker. Tickets are available from any Kildangan GAA committee member.

Another fundraiser is t-shirts "Geezer's on fire" in adult and children's sizes. T-shirts cost €10
