Summary:

1.a Conjugation of the beads with monosaccharides and disaccharides.

1. b Experiment of beads adhesion on Carbo-Bind microwell (Corning) to verify the quality of the conjugation. This experiment furnished qualitalitative results.

1.c In order to make the quantitative analysis I plan to make the NMR or XPS analysis.

1.d I need to start a new culture of the MCF7 cells, the actual one shows MFC7 cells growing in suspension.

2.1 Polymerization of the Poly- (AH-MMA)-NHNH2. This polymer should be the functional film to bind the Carbo-Beads to the PMMA substrate. This synthesis can be improved.

Action Plan:

The next step will be the experiment to show the CarboBeads-cells. This experiment performed with a good control (no-tumoral cells) will show the possibility to isolate tumoral cells.

Shilpa can help me to make the culture of the MCF7 cells and Lifeng will give us a new sample of such cells.

I would like to perform this experiment (the proof of concept) in 15 days.
