WooYoung: Journal club on a co-culture microfluidic system for tumor metastasis study where the author used physical barriers to separate parallel flow of hydrogels

Yun-Ho: Proposed his new outline on the bistable microfluidic valves as open/close valves to isolate different microwells without inducing mechanical disturbance. Came out with nice design and justification.

One concern is to take account for the local disturbance induced by the open/close of the bistable valves

Matthew: Proposed his new outline with Jiankang on the surface-directed gradient generation with satisfactory preliminary results to show the advantages of the current approach compared to previous method and feasible plans for a paper. One concern is to find more potential applications for this new approach.

Joe: Proposed his revised outline regarding building 3D microfluidic system with co-culture of endothelial cells and cardiomyocytes. He came out with a more simplified and feasible design for the 3D microfluidic devices. One common concern is how to achieve endothelialization of the small channels and how to achieve the profusion of the multiple 3D microfluidic network.
