Jiankang He:

· Present the revised outline

· Visualization of concentration gradient

· Investigate the drying effects, XPS, topography. Mechanical properties

· Cell adhesion and proliferation of SMC on the composite chitosan-gelatin materials

Suggestion:

· Investigate the length of the tube to connect the pump

· Choose more volumes to study the effects of flow rate on the injection-withdrawing

· Photo-bleaching problem when capturing two color images

· Figure out the time-line of the project

Masoud and BC

· Present the revised paper

· Focus on right angel geometry of the side-groove channel

· Particle modeling

· Clarify the goal as: ‘Put fewer cells into specific position’

· Investigate the effects of the post to change the flow profile

Suggestion:

· Can you investigate the thickness of the channel (top-channel) to see the effects of the flow profile?

· How significant of the difference between the poles and without poles;

· Present more data for asking the right question

· Add the depth for each figures, do systematic investigation by changing parameters

Wongu and sim

· Present the progress of evaluation and characterization of microvalves and micromixer

· Novelty of the paper: combination of mixing and multiplexing in three-layer system

Suggestion:

· Try more types of florescence dyes to show the mixing effects

· Try to replace ethanol with PBS to reduce the FITC aggregation

· Clarify the novelty of the paper

· Come out publishable figures from the results.

· Plan to deliver difference concentrations to the specific position

· Present the progress of the project

Suggestion:

· Seeding cells into microstructure directly without waiting

· Change different parameters

· Get the Cardiomyocytes
