· Hao presented journal club on patterned stem cell differentiation which shows that patterned mechanical forces can induce the differentiation of the stem cells into osteogenesis or adipogenesis lineage.

· Seila presented her work on microfluidic-mediated gradient generation.

· Sanbok presented his latest simulation on the microfluid-based gradient generation

· Fumiki presented his outline on assembly of alginate/PEG microgels-based assembly. Suggestions include 1) try to justify the biological significance of dissolving alginate microgels and replace them with a new type of microgels; 2) finalize an assembly approach that can give the ultimate shape, if the final shape is sheet-like structure, then maybe want to consider Benham’s approach. 3) when you express the UV exposure, please use dose energy instead of UV exposure time since it can be changed.

· Nasser: have presented an outline in biomaterial group regarding bone tissue engineering. Trying to help Jeo with his project on the differentiation of MSC to bone cells.

· Jiankang: Finish his FTIR data quantification and study the cellular behaviors on the hydrogel gradient.
