History

Developed from existing LUX technology and Angelus systems, these new Angelus models showed the full capability of the Zaibatsu to improve and innovate on existing designs. Still barely out of the prototype stage the Archangel would quickly become the unit of choice for unit commanders and elite units.

General

Combining good overall offensive and defensive abilities this unit was a good all-rounder which could fulfill any role it was assigned to. With a quick and maneuverable fighter mode based on the Kamaitachi and a close in mecha mode the Archangel was hard to force into a vulnerable position. Able to quickly switch in between both modes the Archangel could use both modes to their full capabilities.

Weapons

Equipped with hardlight weapons these systems allowed for the Archangel to have unlimited ammunition for weapons and could be used against both physical and energy barriers. As a bonus hardlight weapons could also block beam blades. For anti-armour work heavy antimatter cannons and an underslung anti-capital ship beam were equipped. The homing hardlight launchers had unlimited ammunition but were somewhat slower than regular homing beams or missiles though just as destructive.

Defensive

Equipped with hardlight shielding as standard the Archangel was very well protected from both physical and energy attacks. Even Stratego special barrier penetrating bullets which were the bane of Angelus units were ineffective against hardlight barriers. This allowed the Archangel to fight wade into the thickest of battles with little fear of damage.

Weakness

As always the actual physical armouring was on the thin side but was offset by the hardlight shielding. If an enemy developed a weapon which could weaken the energy shielding and hardlight shields then the Archangel would be extremely vulnerable to a frontal attack.
