Made to be a more complete single unit strike force the aptly named strike carrier was a second generation carrier. No really shining in any one area this carrier was nonetheless well rounded to fulfil most roles it was assigned to. This carrier utilized the newest technologies such as launch cylinders and room for an enhanced fighter for the wing commander. The launch cylinders were a useful tool to sow confusion among troops by suddenly planting many hundreds of fighter in the midst of the enemies. Each cylinder was considered expendable, they were sent careening into the enemy preferably a large ship and after impact the fighter would be released. The violence of such an assault was enough to throw many enemies off. If this ship had one glaring weakness it was the lack of personal defensive or offensive guns. Though it did have 2 dual 1c mass driver turrets their accuracy had much to be desired and recharge time was horrendous. These strike carriers would continue to serve as the main medium size carrier for the foreseeable future.
