Background

The faction known as Stratego almost arrogantly prides themselves on being able to formulate a complete strategy to take down any opponent who faces them. Their strategy relies on completely developing new weapon systems to respond to the level of threat and opposition they will face. So with each new war their whole make-up of their armed forces changes completely. This allows for them to be unpredictable to the enemies they face.

In the current war of the Ascendants the Stratego is favouring completely highly adaptable mecha capable of equipping weapon ranging from squad level to planet destroying. This can completely change the role of an individual tactical Aggressor depending on the mission and command positions required. This great flexibility is keeping in line with Stratego tactical planning and doctrine.

Their advance science manifest itself in remote devices called B.O.Xs (Battle Offensive eXtender), small cube shaped objects capable of self-propelled flight in any environment. Crudely they can be used to intercept projectiles or projected to fly into targets. More eloquently a small group of them can locally distort and manipulate the local quantum fields in an area. This allows for shields of untold power, local distortion fields to tear apart the toughest enemies or other non-Euclidian distortions of the environment to render different effects. The only limitation is the supply of boxes available and the strength of the pilots technopathic ability.

A natural mutation in the population of the Stratego universe is the common occurrence of technopathcy. This allows for natural communication and manipulation of technology, this forms the cornerstone of many of the Stratego military technology. It is no surprise that for any pilot to be even considered for tactical aggressor piloting they must possess a large degree of technopathcy. At the very least an initiate (lowest rank for pilots) can form a quantum entanglement field on call and control a group of B.O.Xs to intercept a small flight of missiles.

Tactical Aggressor

The base mecha is a capable melee-combatant; this was done because many situations in battle end up in close range when all the ammunition is gone. All the edges which can be used for striking or attacking (knuckles, tips of fingers, edge of feet, forehead blade) have been reinforced with a nan-crystalline material to improve durability and damage. On top of this several built in melee weapons have been spread throughout the body. All-in-all when it comes to melee range very few mechs can hold their own against a Tactical Aggressor.

For ranged weapons the Tactical Aggressor can avail itself to mount several options of weapons on its mount points. These points can move to a very large degree and can fire weapons that are attached to them. This allows for a single tactical Aggressor to have the equivalent firepower of a whole squad of typical mecha if properly equipped. In addition various other equipment can be moun ted adding to the versatility of the mecha. The level of equipment available to a pilot is based on rank and threat level expected to be encountered. Even at the base Pawn level the equipment is optimised to give maximum versatility and potential if not anything in the area of firepower. To power this variable level of equipment and weapons is a single Quantum resonator engine which works by spinning a quantum defected turbine to produce a high level of power. This power can then be channeled to run any equipment that is connected to the mecha. This arrangement allows for a single Tactical Aggressor to be ready for any level of equipment it may be required to equip.

The one glaring weakness of a Tactical Aggressor is the low speed of the mecha. Not able to keep up with the blazingly fast Strikers, Tactical Aggressors rely on their versatility and strategies to win battles.
