“So the wing commander said I had to get in and pilot this widow maker of a machine. I said I wasn’t scared to fight but I didn’t want to be put in a mecha guaranteed to get me killed. He then told me that the only other alternative was to put me in a space suit, give me a laser rifle and throw me out the air lock. I then told him that was better then piloting the Stiletto.”

History:
This is the lightest mecha fielded by the Grand Alliance. The Grand Alliance is a grouping of various dimensions that have banded together to fight an interdimensional threat. Because many member dimensions did not have such advance technology the standard mechas would be created so that all dimensions could make them. The Saberfalcon is an example of a higher end unit and the Stiletto is an example of their weakest unit.
Because it is so light and sports 3 engine arrays it is highly manuverable and quiet fast. It can match or exceed the manuverability of many other mechas of other dimensions. This is the main advantage of this mecha because in other areas it pales significantly.
The main weapon is a 15mm rail gun. This was adopted from a powerful siege battle suit, however against most space borne opponents this weapon could barley scratch the paint job. It however had a blistering rate of fire and could if given time take down even the hardest opponents. Its thin slender rounds gave the gun and subsequently the mecha its name. The other weapon is a missile launcher array mounted was a left arm should be. This held 96 micro missiles, depending on the opponent could be quiet deadly. However against most heavy mecha even all 96 missiles could be a mere annoyance.
The compact mode as it was known was so that more Stilettos could be packed and transported on spaceships. This mode also served as a cruise mode so that the Stiletto could travel long distances and still conserve fuel. All weapons could be used in this mode but this mode was less manuverable then the standard configuration.
The Stiletto mounted a magnetic barrier in the right shoulder. This barrier was relatively weak when compared to the Grand Arms design it was based off of. It was easy to make like the rest of the mecha and could be produced quickly. The armor was standard titanium alloy. When taken all together the Stiletto was fragile and a few shots from a 10mm pulse laser could destroy it.
The Stiletto’s main advantages other then manuverability was: numbers, long endurance and quick turnaround. It was very easy to manufacture, a dimension with standard 20th century technology could produce one if given the diagrams and blue prints. It is said that for every Saberfalcon produced 10 Stilettos could be made. This mass amount of mechs could take down a space battleship if given some support. Like the Saberfalcon the Stiletto had large fuel tanks. The fuel tanks are located were legs should be. The endurance was even greater then a Saberfalcon. The missile pod, rail gun and fuel tank could all be quickly reloaded in a matter of seconds. This allowed a constant stream of Stilettos to be sent to the fray.
