Development history

A 60th generation destroid unit, it was created after the second renaissance of Grand Arms creation. As such it is equipped with the many advances in technology that was developed in the previous wars. This mecha is more streamlined to fulfil a purpose and isn’t as general use as previous models. This destroid would continue to serve as the main battle mech until a greater threat forced the Grand Arms military to re-evaluate their design philosophy.

Its main weapon was a multi-use launcher which could fire both physical and energy rounds. The long rails of the launcher served to magnetically accelerate both physical and energy projectiles. An overcharged function could be used to shoot out long streams of destructive energy, which could tear apart cap ships. The same could be done for physical projectiles, they could be accelerated to near light speed to produce very deadly kinetic energy weapons. Lastly this launcher could function as a large beam saber for close in combat.

Blitzschneider was laid out with various homing energy beam systems. This insured that it would have numerous energy missiles and didn’t have to rely on constant reloads. The perfect launchers could split the main beam into 16 beams while the giga could do it into 4 beams. This provided ample amount of homing projectiles for numerous enemies.

The last weapon system of note was the kinetic missile pods. Using advance technology a small 10 kg dart was accelerated to .9c. This was enough to make each missile capable of being an anti-cap ship weapons. Each launcher could carry up to 4 reloads due to their small size.

For defence the Blitzschneider had all the previous shielding systems of the Valkarius but with improved armour. This meant that unless it was hit with heavy firepower most attacks could be shrugged off.

By firing all the homing beams at itself the Blitzschneider could boost itself similarly like the Valkarius. Unlike the Valkarius this system did not put a strain on the pilot. It had to cool down a scant minute before it could be activated again. This system gave the Blitzschneider it’s golden glow when the system was activated thus the mecha’s nickname “Golden comet”.
