History
In the midst of a great and terrible interdimensional conflict the Saberfalcon was made. It had the ability to be mass-produced with relatively standard manufacturing equipment but incorporated advance weapons sported by the likes of Grand Arms units. That is not to say it was superior on the battlefield. The previous units used by the bulk of the forces were little more then fodder for the superior enemies. Only such mighty units such as Grand Arms Jagdpanzer or Valkarius could pose any credible threat. The Saberfalcon is little more then a minor annoyance. But to the pilots who had survived to receive the Saberfalcon, this unit was definitely an upgrade.
Weapons
The weapons were mishmash of whatever could be readily available and in great supply. The main weapon is a standard mech battle rifle. It had the capacity to fire both solid and energy rounds. Whole energy magazines could be discharged at once to create a devastating short-range blast. This however greatly overheated the rifle. The physical rounds were standard slugs accelerated thru a rail gun. Primitive but effective. The other weapons mounted on the body were mainly to add some punch but were both limited in ammunition and damage. Notable weapons were the wing binder mounted energy weapons. The Gilgamesh cannons were slow firing, short range but highly destructive. The Hydra cannons were weak but both rapid firing and long range. The real weapons of any threat were the Loki shield system and the remote weapons. Derived from grand arms Faust technology this downgraded weapon technology gave the Saberfalcon some unexpected punch. The Loki shield system functioned both as a shield and a close combat weapon. In close combat mode the shield opened and acted as a pair of crushing claws, a beam sabre was mounted in the middle for some added ferocity. Lastly this shield system could be remotely guided to attack enemies.
The calve mounted wasp remotes were small and fast. They however didn’t have much punch. When two or more wasp remotes converged their beams they would temporarily boost in power. This could be used to create small barriers or converging “screw” beams. This allowed the wasp remotes to be of some use rather then just to distract or annoy enemies.
The Thunder remote was a physical weapon, which flew at its enemies. It had a small gravitron field generator. This made it powerful enough to heavily damage space cruisers. This however drained the reactor greatly. In most situations the remote was used to ram enemies with out the help of the gravitron field.
The Lightning remote fired energy beams of great intensity. Probably the most powerful remote it was also the shortest use as well. It could only maintain a full beam for 2 minutes before it was rendered useless. If a cool down period was allowed between each shot it could last for a whole battle before it need to be replaced.
Despite its shortcoming in terms of weapons the Saberfalcon had tremendous combat range and endurance. It had 2 massive fuel tanks that were carried externally and could be ejected and replaced while in battle. This gave the Saberfalcon the ability to fight non-stop and in actual battle units were observed to operate for days. The Saberfalcon as its name implies was also fast. It was the fastest mech using close to standard day technology.
This mecha was unfortunately constucted from many parts only available form Grand Arms companies. The Grand Alliance would slowly phase this mech out due to the hevy relaince from Grand Arms company sourced parts. It was the Grand Alliance main goal to become independent form Grand Arms forces and technology if possible in the occurance that there stalwart ally (for now) would turn on them.
