Lt Kazama was lucky to be alive in such an outdated mecha. His Hayabusa class mecha had just survived a near miss from the lone Cherubs class warangel invading his assigned dimension. This dimension was pretty low priority so not much enemy incursion was expected and so what was tasked to defend this dimension was whatever riff-raff they could get. Mostly the outdated kind of stuff which would have been fine in the “Final war” but in this “End war” was equal to a flying coffin. He had all the goodies from the block A upgrade and even some other upgraded electronic and equipment but still not good enough.

This thing was fast it was fighting on the level of a Grand Arms destroid unit or better… This lone unit had ripped thru the only Typhoon armour they possessed, several Berserker class capital ships, countless small carriers, several wings of Star Hornets, and pretty much everything else they had thrown at it. It was pretty much his crippled Hayabusa and a lone Grand Arms Wunderpanzer to stand in the way.

“WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! LARGE ENERGY SIGNATURE APPROACHING!”

The klaxon and warnings from the planetary base were screaming warnings on all broadcast frequencies. Either this was good news or maybe even more bad news. What emerged from the growing dimensional portal was even worse than the lone Cherub. Several Inferis cube shaped fighters quickly exited and assessed their mortal enemy. As far as Kazama could tell all the other factions were nothing in the grand scheme of thing in the struggle between these two titanic superpowers. On one side was the highly advance light tech of the LUX, and on the other was the unquestioned bioengineering of the Inferis. Kazama braced himself as a witness to the titanic struggle that was to occur.

The Cherub powered up its light tech known colloquially as “angeltech”. Different glowing translucent shapes formed around the Cherub and formed into deadly equipment. As far as any Grand alliance scientist could tell there were no moving parts yet the equipment could function well at whatever task they were set to do. In this case the usual configuration of high energy cannon, homing energy pod, close combat weapon, extra arm cannon extenders, armor and speed boosting wings. Also to handle the extra company who had appeared several “halos” materialised. “Halos” are energy remote weapons which had the combat ability better than even wraith faust produced by Gran Arms tech. It was rumored by Grand Alliance troops that every “Halo” was powered by the extracted souls of enemy soldiers. BS as far as Kazama was concerned, maybe…

The cube shapes unfolded themselves and quicly began their attack not waiting for pleasantries. Hellfire quickly filled the area around the Cherub any normal Gran Alliance unit would require a miracle to survive such a vicious assault but the Cherub brushed it off as if it was walking thru a harmless mist. Returning fire several highly charged beam specifically attuned to damage the Inferis bio-tech flew out of the various weapons. The unlucky “Jackal” who was either too careless to avoid the fire or too green was instantly destroyed. Lt. Kazama had never seen a cube shape so easily eliminated by a mecha so easily before. He had heard of massive destroid units being able to withstand and fight back against the Inferis but never such a small 20 meter mecha being able to do it. Meanwhile the several dozen “Halos” were cutting off the cube shape fighter’s movement all the while peppering them with energy bolts. The battle at first seemed one sided but the ferocity of the “Jackals” were not to be underestimated. Several cube shapes turned around and unleashed powerful blast from their mouths. The stream of powered hellfire tore thru the “Halos” and even started to crack the light constructs of the Cherub. The two sides now within killing distance unloaded everything they had at each other. In an intense exchange of firepower the Cherub and the cube shapes disintegrated under the damage they were dealing to each other.

Lt Kazama breathed a sigh of relief. He might of not done anything but the threat from these two titanic super powers was over for now. He did not know if they could even put up a token resistance the next time the LUX or Inferis came around but for now he had survived…

Terrifying mecha which are only the pawn units of a powerful enemy. These mecha are able to fight off whole fleet of Grand Alliance forces single handily. Grand Alliance commanders dread to think of the tougher mecha they will have to face from this faction.
