History /Background
The latest Superior Alliance ship designed for exclusive use by Joint Taskforce Expeditionary Forces (JTEF). This ship was deigned shortly after the second round of fighting had begun in the war of the Ascendants.
General
Utilizing the best technology the Superior Alliance could muster this ship was a masterpiece of engineering as well as a ship of war. The centerpiece of this technology was the anti-gravity drives as well as the artificial gravity systems. The first of their kind on a Superior Alliance ship these systems showed the advances that were happening with the SA. A well rounded ship able to fulfil a multitude of roles the Warspite could punch above its weight class and if it bit off more than it could chew it was quick enough to run away to fight another day.
Ship Systems
Armouring
Utilizing the standard armour material and shielding of all the Superior Alliance factions this ship was well protected for its size. Able to take a beating from a battleship for short periods of time this durability increased the survivability of the crew.
Drives
Quick accelerating and fast sublight engines made the Warspite swift for sub faster than light combat maneuvers. Unusually maneuverable for a ship of its size the Warspite could almost as easily dodge enemy fire as well as large Strikers. A standard FTL drive was used and due to the relatively small size of the Warspite this drive could propel the ship to incredible hyperlight speeds.
Weapons
Well-armed for a ship of its size the Warspite mounted a lower main rail gun and beam cannon. Using the same bank of magnetic accelerator that were used to launch mechas the rail gun and beam cannons could produce quiet powerful shots. Taking a bit of time to build up charge again the main guns could not be rapid fired and a time of 1 minute was needed between each shot. Backing up the main guns were two smaller rail guns mounted on the main body. The energy weapon backups were four large energy projectors. Using the same three firing modes as the Vindicator they were upsized for anti-capital ship work. For anti-swarm work recessed strips of scattering beam projectors and micro-missile launchers ran along the top of the Warspite. Rounding out the whole arsenal were banks of large missile launchers which could be equipped with a variety of warheads. These ranged from high explosive to nukes.
Mission Modules hardpoints
Two of these were under the main upper body. These allowed for flexibility for outfitting the Warpsite for missions.
Anti-gravity drive
Combined with the ability for planetary re-entry and take off this drive gave the Warspite unprecedented tactical advantages. Acting as a hovering base a JTEF squadron could have quiet heavy aerial support if need be. Limited on a planet surface by the atmosphere and environmental damages cause by mach speed travel the Warspite was nonetheless quick when operating planet side. Combined with the universe entropic engine the Warspite could considered to have unlimited range.
Artificial gravity system
Combating the atrophy experienced by prolonged zero-g environments was this gravity system. Developed surprisingly by the magic centered Tangram universe this gravity generator acted as inertial dampers as well. Requiring a large amount of energy to use this generator could easily take up to 40% of the Universe entropic engines output.
