Description:
A 10th generation Grand Arms unit. The Jagdpanzer was made to replace the aging Grand Arms unit that were used so far. 2 Jagdpanzers were made and field-tested against an alien invasion fleet. Their speed, armour and powerful weapons easily turned the tide of battle and victory was assured. The major advancements made in the development of the Jagdpanzer were the advanced computer systems. This allowed for a fairly mediocre, non-psychic pilot to use the unit effectively. While a psychic, skilled pilot would become invincible. The computer system helped manage the remotely guided weapons and various other weapon systems. This was unlike the other Grand Arms units, which required highly trained and specially evolved humans to pilot them.
The Hydra was the mass produced version of the Jagdpanzer. It was a full 8 meters shorter and 50 percent weaker then the Jagdpanzer. Also the computer system would perform pre-programmed attacks when asked to guide remote weapon systems. The Jagdpanzer’s computer would either formulate unique algorithm for each enemy (increasing unpredictability and increasing chances of hitting the enemy) or perform pre-programmed attacks. This was found to be to consume too much computer processing time (Hydra’s computer was not as powerful as Jagdpanzer’s) and so the Hydra’s systems were simplified. So the pilot could either control the remote weapons by himself (rather manually or psychically) or ask the computer to do it (Pre-programmed attacks only). Still with these handicaps the Hydra is expected to be a superior unit.
Panzer MP was a very effective unit only because it was calibrated using combat data from the Monthly Mecha Fighting Tournament. Wanting to also make the Hydra an effective mass-produced unit, 1 unit was sent to participate in the tournament. Hopefully the combat data will make this unit even more effective. Only a cadet was sent since the effectiveness of the computer system will be tested and an ace pilot will not be required.
Strength: Speed, Devastating power, many remote weapons to confuse opponents.
Weakness: Lack of super shielding around limbs and other critical areas. Complicated systems that could hamper an inexperienced pilot from using Jagdpanzer Hydra effectively.
