Plague

"Plague"

Like several other Accelerant games, Crossover will have the "plague" courtesy rule, that can be used by people who are feeling unwell during the game.

In the Trackless Wood, sometimes random magical waves will overtake people, and cause a "plague." There is no cure for this arcane plague. It's debilitating, but not contagious or fatal, and always eventually passes.

If you need to avoid combat for a time for health or safety reasons, you may choose for your character to contract the plague. You should act as though Drained (ie, not use game skills) and avoid active combat areas. You may let your friends know that you have the plague, so that they know not to ask you to accompany them on dangerous missions until you're feeling better.

(Other players will be expected to honor the spirit of this rule, and not pressure you to "feel better" so that you can go somewhere dangerous with them. Even if they really, really need a healer.)

If you are attacked while you have the plague, you may inform your attacker that you have it, or you may call "spirit" to avoid combat.

We are trusting players not to abuse this rule to avoid dangerous in game situations, and only take advantage of it if they are feeling unwell, or don't feel safe to participate in combat.
