Actions Between Events

Actions Between Events

Since we've had some questions about our policy, I want to clarify how we handle things that Crossover PCs want to do between events.

Players are free to roleplay having taken trips, gone to Earth and back as appropriate to their character, visited cities or libraries, taken university courses, etc. You don't need to talk to staff about this; you're fine as long as you're not doing anything that contradicts game lore. The caveat is that if anything of significance apart from inter-PC roleplay is involved, it has to be handled via a Between Events Skill, or in play.

For instance, you could say you visited a foreign library, but unless you were using the Research skill, you should not expect to get any game-relevant information from staff due to that trip. Or, you could visit Chios, but if you want to talk to the Phoenix King while you're there, you'll need to actually do so in game, by either sending him a message (say, via Nocturnal Whispers) or planning an organized trip to his court (via Excursion.)

As a staff, if we were to try to resolve actions for everyone who wanted to do something between games, we'd rapidly become overwhelmed. So, we have Between Events Skills to fairly manage those actions without overworking staff.

Hopefully that clears things up. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about this policy.
