Hello Oh Amazing Ones!
For one last time I get to indulge my sappy side and tell you all how much I have loved you for the past year(s). The level of caring, compassion, and camaraderie has been tremendous and the result is that we shared some incredible experiences, adventures, academics, and emotions together. I know that my full time teaching career will end within the next five to ten years, and I also know that this class's students and parents alike will be the one that will hold the fondest memories and greatest sense of family. I love you deeply and beautifully.
Recap: The school year ended just as it should have, with lots of time for the kids to be together in our magical little room and alley. Each class had good homeroom time, did a little clean up, moved boxes, painted the sunshades that I'll mount above the alley at the end of the summer, and celebrated with small ceremony and party food. The graduation practice went smoothly and set the stage for an excellent evening ceremony and after-party. As our last school day came to pass, there were many authentic tears, abundant long hugs, and also lots of plans being made. Kids: Here, by the way is a link to our class' "call me" sheet and here is the Anti Boredom list that I mentioned to you on Thursday (choose & use wisely).
Coming Up: There is only one thing to put on your calendar. On Sunday, July 19, 2015, I'll be hosting my annual Boating & Barbecue at Vasona for DCS Alumni. Please take a look and let me know if you can make it. It has always been such a great time to check in with your classmates and also to see some people from your earlier years at DCS. The kids in my first DCS class are now 18 and 19 and some will probably show up!
Other random details
1. All of this year's 38 newsletters are here on my site.
2. The mydiscoveryk8.org accounts will stay active.
3. There will be projects to complete in the alley if you want to help
4. The planning docs for trips (SF, camping, beach, walkabout, etc) are all on my site.
So, happy Father's Day to everyone and have a wonderful summer. Go play, get wet, watch the stars, and go see/feel Inside Out.
Keep in touch!
Chris
