There are many online tools that can help you be more organized, establish a professional look, and appeal to your individual talents and interests. In this class you will explore many tools and learn to use them well for your own purposes as well as instructing others. Tools include the Google Apps (mail, calendar, docs, photos, sites), online video production, animation tools, and a bit of safe social networking. Take advantage of the digital explosion harnessing its power for your own digital (and academic) life.

2. Find and add TwistedWave and add it
3. Go to your chrome://apps
4. Click "New Document"
5. Record and edit a sentence of yours
Part 2:
6. Import this file, then download it (down arrow), then "open with" TwistedWave
7. Edit it so that I say your 5-digit number (shown on our spreadsheet)
8. Upload to Google Drive, make public, and add the link to your cell

How (and Why) to Do A Mail-Merge

Overview of a spreadsheet (Google account, drive, create spreadsheet)
-rows, columns, cells, formula
Making a pie chart: contents of a Skittles bag
-create column headers (flavor & number)
-enter name and color of each number
-formula for sum (two ways)
-highlight data, insert --> chart, pie
-change the colors of pie pieces to match the color of the Skittle
Making a personal budget: income, expenses, balance, percentage
-add a second "sheet" to your document (plus sign in the lower left)
-name it "budget"
-enter "Income" and give examples and per-week averages, then find total
-enter "Expenses" and give per-week averages, then find total
-enter "Balance" that is income-expenses
-create a "Per Year" column, enter formula into top cell, and fill-down
Gradebook:
-make a third sheet (+ sign in lower left corner) and call it gradebook
-make 4 rows with (fake) student names and a 5th row called "test average"
-above the top row, add one called "points possible"
-make 4 rows for tests and then one for "total" and one for "percentage"
-fill in test data for each student
-create formulas for each student's total points earned as well as their average
-create formulas to show the average of all students' scores on each of the tests
Share the doc as "anyone with the link" and add it to your row in our class spreadsheet
