The Pictures with Purpose Project

The Video Poll Project: A video showing many people responding to a question.

    1. Think of a good (interesting, funny, catch-em-off guard) question

    2. Have someone film you asking the question

    3. Film many people responding to the question

    4. Upload the footage to a computer

    5. Assemble your question and the answers (change order if you like) to create a fast-paced sequence

    6. Add background music if possible

    7. Add closing of some kind

The Nursery Rhyme Project: A video that shows a series of people saying the lines of a rhyme.

Filming:

    1. Think of a nursery rhyme (or other thing that has rhythm or cadence to it)

    2. Get 3 or 4 people who are willing to say a line of your rhyme

    3. Find a suitable location (good lighting and no extraneous sound)

    4. Record a person saying the first part... use "handles" and good framing of a medium head shot

    5. Repeat for that person if necessary, then proceed to person 2, 3, and 4 until all phrases of the rhyme have been filmed

    6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for each person in your group (each records the others saying a line from a rhyme)

Editing

    1. Connect the camera to a computer

    2. Open an editing program (MovieMaker, iMovie, or other)

    3. Download the footage for one rhyme onto that computer (or into the application)

    4. Disconnect the camera and then the next person takes it to another computer and repeats steps 1 to 3 for this section

    5. View the footage of each person in your rhyme

    6. Edit together one version of the best take for each part of the rhyme

    7. Add a title screen and credits

    8. Export and "turn in
