Scripture: Psalm 103:8, 11
Prayer: God, thank you for your big, amazing love for me and for everyone in the world. I don't really understand it, but I want to feel it and show it to others.
Book: 100 Illustrated Devotions for Children by Rick Warren
Watch & Learn: Review our phonics and high frequency word instruction for this week with Mrs. Brzeinski!
Practice: Read our High Frequency Word reader I Want to Help! 2 times aloud to a grown up or sibling.
May Do: Choose one or two of the leveled readers to practice with below. These get harder with each book, so try the first two, and then the last one is the most advanced if you would like to give it a whirl!
Each player picks a sight word to practice during the game. Player One chose “help” and Player Two chose “too”.
Then they pick a different colored marker and start taking turns connecting two dots with a line.
After a few rounds, Player One draws a line that makes a square. To claim it, they write their sight word in the middle.
The players continue taking turns drawing lines and writing their sight word in the middle of each box they make.
When all of the squares have been claimed, the players count up their squares. The player with the most squares is the winner! This is a great way to practice ALL of our sight words - so feel free to play more than once!
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Colossians 3:23
You can use straws, toothpicks, sticks from outside, play dough, marshmallows, fruit snacks, etc. Send a picture of your child creating the cube to your child's teacher! :)
3. Get to work: Practice writing your lowercase letters. You might want to print a few copies of the writing page "Always do your best!"
Read the story. Cut and paste the pictures to show the order of events.
Trace both hands onto a different color paper and cut out the hands. Then ONLY glue the palms and wrists onto the paper above. After, have your child find the partners of 10 by putting one finger down and figuring out the missing partner to make 10! Have your child fill in the blanks as he/she completes the activity!
