Practice: Using Math Expression pg. 234 use a paper clip to measure the length of each object. Solve the additional addition facts below.

Writing

Watch & Learn: Listen to Mrs. Neidigh as she reads her rough draft of her fantasy story aloud. Notice how she added LOTS of details from her 5-part plan/sketch and tell to bring her story to life. Do you hear examples of character movement, dialogue and sound effects?
Practice: Your turn! Use the writing paper provided, or your own notebook and write your fantasy story! Make sure to incorporate movement, dialogue and sound effects. Good luck, authors!

Save a piece of history for your future self and others. Work through the time capsule sheets at your own pace. It will be a "May Do" next week as well. No need to turn in. Just keep it in a safe place for yourself.

Bible

Run the Race -Great Cloud of Witnesses: Hebrews 12

Read: Hebrews 12: 1-3.

Paul encourages us in this Bible passage to throw off everything that hinders us and do away with the the sin that so easily entangles us.

Ask:

- What kind of race is this?- How do we run this race?- What can hinder us in this race?- Which sin stops us in reaching the finish?

What do you need:

- oranges- permanent markers- large fish tank or buckets- a waterproof sign with the words ‘FINISH’-Place the waterproof sign at the bottom of the large fish tank or the bucket and fill with water.

What do you do:

Give each child an orange and a marker pen. Kids write on the orange all kind of things that hinder them or certain sins that entangle them.

Next, kids put their oranges with the written words on them into the water. The oranges will float. They won’t reach the finish...

Take the orange out again and peel it. Put it back into the water. The peeled orange will sink and float to the word ‘Finish’ on the bottom.

Ask:

What do we need to do if we want these oranges to go to the bottom and reach the finish? What can we do in our own life to throw off sin and follow Jesus?
