Since this is a review week in our Wonders curriculum, we aren't adding any new high frequency words to our list this week. Instead, we are practicing all the ones we already know. To do that, print off this mat and choose TWO ways each day to practice the following words: for, have, they, of, said, want, here, me, this, what. For each activity that you choose, color in the box on the mat with a different color. At the end of the week, have mom or dad submit a picture of your mat with all the different boxes you have colored in this week! You can also have them share photos of you DOING the challenges! Your teachers miss you so much and can't wait to see your work this week.
Our essential question this week is this: What do you see in the sky? We want you to always be thinking about WHO made the things in the sky that we can see. As we learn about them this week, try to figure out why God made the different things in the sky.
Tell mom or dad (or whoever is helping you with your at home learning) at least two things that you can see in the sky. Maybe try to think of one thing at night, and one thing during the day! Which of your ideas did God create?
Watch to learn the two new vocabulary words (distance and recognize) you need to know before reading/watching Bringing Down the Moon.
Strategy: Making Predictions - Use what you have read and what you know to learn more than the author says. Think about what you have read so far, and tell what you think will happen next!
Skill: Problem and solution - this is part of what we have learned already about story structure. The plot of the story is what happens, or the events in the story, and often there is a problem that the character or characters solve during the course of the story. How they solve it is called the solution.
Write at least 2 sentences; use capitals, spaces, and punctuation! Illustrate your story and use the number of colors for how old you are. If you are 6, use 6 different colors in your story please.
God wants to be a father to us and He's made it possible through the sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus' rescue is an amazing part of God's story and is referenced throughout the Bible. Today's story focuses on Genesis 2:17, Luke 24, John 20, Acts 1:1-10, Romans 8:14-17, and Romans 10:9-10.
Read the sentences and draw a picture to match each one.
Pick an challenge (or TWO!) each day, and complete it! Track your progress through the challenges by coloring in each box with a different color. See if you can fill up the mat by the end of the week!
