So far, you have brainstormed ideas for your own imaginative narrative, and come up with a plan for your story. This plan should include ideas for a beginning, middle, and end.
1. Today you will begin writing your rough draft! Please watch the video for reminders about how to begin your draft, starting with a strong introduction.
2. Write about the events in your story. Use the video below to help with ideas!
Remember, you do not need to worry about spelling or punctuation today. When writing your draft, you are getting your ideas on the paper. We will continue working on the writing process next week, including publishing the final copy of your imaginative narrative! Be sure to save all of the papers you worked on. Have fun!
Today you'll complete the worksheet on slavery. If you are not able to print it out, just write the answers in your notebook or on notebook paper. You do not need to write the complete sentence, just the word that fits in each blank. Next week I'll show you at a real cotton plant! We'll also look at a video of how a cotton gin worked. See you next week!
