Our essential question this week is this: How can you help out at home? Tell mom or dad (or whoever is helping you with your at home learning) at least two ways that you can help out at home today. How do you think God feels when you are a helper?
Watch to learn the two new vocabulary words (chores and contribute) you need to know before reading/watching Peter's Chair. Be ready to practice these two words and use them in sentences this week! Both of these words give ideas for how you can help out at home!
Strategy: Ask and Answer Questions: Ask questions while reading or listening to keep yourself interested and help you make meaning! Ask questions that can be answered as you read/listen or after you finish reading/listening.
Skill: Sequence of Events: An event is something that happens. Events in a story happen in order. Words we use when we retell or talk about the events in order are first, next, then, and last. When we sequence events, we can very often divide a story into parts: the beginning, the middle, and the end.

Joseph experienced some major ups and downs in his life. Check out Joseph’s story and see how God was with him all along.
1 – What are some ways that God was with Joseph?
2 – How do you think Joseph was feeling when he was in prison in Egypt? What do you think he would have been thinking about?
3 – After Joseph’s dad, Jacob, died, Joseph’s brothers thought Joseph might pay them back for all the wrong they had done to him. But that’s not what Joseph did. Here’s what he said:
“But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.”
How did God use Joseph’s troubles and pain for good?
