This wonderful resource was created by Vietnamese engineer Nguyen Duc Thang and placed online for non-commercial use. The four chapters each contain links to YouTube hosted videos of 2100 mechanical animations.
How to use the guides. The books are arranged in four chapters. Chapters 1 and 2 deal with transmission of motion from one location to another, whist chapter three deals with very specific applications of mechanisms. Chapter 4 deals with industrial mechanisms.
The following website content on www.mekanizmalar.com was created by Seyhan Esoy. It contains many interesting mechanical animations and more.
This is an open access, multimedia resource for learning and teaching about kinematics – the geometry of pure motion – and the history and theory of machines. It is a very old webpage (created in 2003), and is now being migrated across to a newer platform. It is still possible to browse the archive of machines but most of the interactive animations no longer work.
It is still well worth a look though.
