Learners in Year 8 are given opportunities to learn about two topics: mechanisms and environmental sustainability through the creation of a sweet/treat dispenser.
Learners are encouraged to consider issues of sustainability by sourcing their own glass jar from home to be reused (or upcycled). Additionally the project is designed to be manufactured with as little waste as possible.
Pupils learn about different forms of motion, levers and linkages and how these can be combined to create mechanisms which can be used to do work for people.
