The table saw is most commonly used to 'rip' large pieces of timber to smaller, more manageable size. It is only to be used by competent, trained members of staff as listed below at the bottom of this page. It should not be used by pupils or untrained staff under any circumstances.
The table saw is situated in the rear workshop preparation area and is a keyed item of equipment. The key should be stored in the keysafe and the electrical supply isolated when not in use.
Rebating or grooving operations are not to be carried out using the table saw.
NB. Lone working is prohibited on school site in-case a member of staff or other individual is not in the vicinity to call 999, request a first aider or provide first aid themselves in the event of a serious accident.
