The ability to be able to understand and write programs (or 'code' as it is often nicknamed as, these days) is not just a skill for those interested in digital devices and computers. Increasingly, electronics are used to operate and interact with almost every object or product you can think of.
Just consider the number of apps installed on your phone. Each communicates with the world around us, to help us get on with our lives.
The ability to write code means that you could fix apps when they go wrong, write your own ones and publish them (possibly becoming rich along the way), you could become an inventor and create the next product that takes the world by storm.
Just like spoken languages, many companies, now expect their employees to be able to write digital code just to be able to carry out their day to day job. Without this ability, you could be passed over in a job interview and lose out to someone who is better skilled than you are.
This area of the website aims to give you a little introduction to the world of 'code'.
These are for confident programmers. Use these to program, compile and test your applications without the need to install software on your PC.
