Making the metal bracket
To be able to recognise a range of workshop tools and equipment.
To be able to use a range of workshop tools and equipment safely and carefully.
1) To be able to know which tool is suitable for a given making process and/or material.
2) So that I am able to use simple making skills to work with a range of tools, processes and materials in order to cut, shape, form and manipulate different materials according to a series of design constraints.

Using the drawing provided (see right), you are to mark out the 125mm x 100mm aluminium sheet according to the dimensions shown.
Your teacher will demonstrate this in-class and support you if/when you find things difficult.
Success criteria:
Mark out upon a flat surface.
Use the correct tools to mark out:
A try square
A steel rule
A scriber / non scratching pen
Use the correct tools to shape the metal:
A pair of tin snips
A flat file
A radius gauge
A bending jig
A battery drill or bench drill
Your bracket will be the correct size.
Your bracket will fit your picture frame comfortably.
