2. The Energy Problem

Balancing the load

To provide an energy boost if it is needed, the national grid provides a reserve. This is a very environmentally costly way of ensuring that sufficient electricity is supplied to homes and businesses in the UK. It is a reactive, rather than predictive way of providing power.
