The BBC MicroBit is a tiny, portable electronic circuit board which contains a microprocessor, a small amount of memory, sensors (such as an accelerometer, magnetometer), bluetooth radio and is able to be used for all sorts of electronics projects. Using the pins, it is also able to be used to control other simple electronic devices.
The MicroBit was created as the 'spiritual successor' to the original 'BBC Micro' computer as was invented to help promote the teaching and learning of computing to school children in the UK.
The BBC MicroBit can be used for all sorts of interesting projects for example 'musical fruit'!
They've even been sent to space in a weather balloon!
