The 'Raspberry Pi' is a very small, credit card sized computer. It is now on its fourth generation and was created by the 'Raspberry Pi Foundation' , a charity with the sole purpose of helping promote the teaching and learning of computer programming to school children in the United Kingdom.
Since its original creation in 2012, the device has gone on to over thirty million units and has also been adopted by electronics enthusiasts all over the world.
The computer runs the Linux operating system and because it has a GPIO (general purpose input / output) 'header' (connector), it can be used as a controller board for all sorts of electronic projects.
There are several languages which the Raspberry Pi is really useful for, two of which are 'Python' and 'JavaScript'.
