No practical to be undertaken by students due to the space restrictions in-place in room 1G1.
Teacher demonstrations can take place with prior reorganisation of the classroom space.
Students could be asked to carry out practical work at home and record evidence of this via digital means. In this event, at least one week's notice will be given to students and parents / carers. Departmental letter to be issued explaining the notice / request.
Practical sessions can be undertaken in Key Stage 4 only, prioritising Year 11 due to the controlled assessment requirements.
Whole-class practicals are only to be undertaken in the wood workshop where modifications have been made to the classroom layout in order to accommodate up to 24 students.
Where smaller numbers of students (up to four) are concerned, these may be accommodated in the workshop area of classroom 1G2.
Where the workshop is required, technician support is to be used so as to increase the level of competent supervision.
Cardboard or foam modelling may be undertaken by students in any room whilst in their usual seating position without the need for them to move around or share resources with other students. Where glue sticks & scissors are concerned, these are to be sanitised between handling / use as per protocol. Care should be taken to tidy/clean-up afterwards, returning the classroom to a clean state for the next teacher.
Students may use the computers as required provided they are sanitised using bleach/alcohol wipes before and after use.
