Longhorn at Midnight
Medium: Colored pencil and charcoal
I created this project for rodeo art. I wanted to show the detail up close in the longhorn and bring out all the colors that work together to make this animal. The dark background is intentional to draw the eye to the longhorn with no distractions.
Explosive Heart
Medium: Ink
In my artwork, I used an effective analogy. This peice represents how some people have a lot of emotion built up inside and sometimes it can all just suddenly come out.
Coronapocolypse
Medium: Graphite
This project represents the crazy time our world went through when the pandemic struck. All the stores were completely out of toilet paper, and this piece is a reminder of what we all went through together but made it out strong.
Sleigh Bells Ring
Medium: Colored pencil
I drew this for the Christmas card competition to represent the jolly time of year that Chrsitmas brings. I think sleigh bells are a fun symbol for Christmas time, and many songs have them in it around that time of year.
Flowers of Kindness
Medium: Graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor
I approached the portrait theme of identity and transformation by thinking about my characteristics and seeing how I could use that in my artwork. I used flowers in my hair to represent compassion and how I strive to put others before myself. Hair is always growing, just how I also am continually growing as a person. As time has gone on I learn and become hopefully a better person.
