Major Projects
In this artwork, I used Black, Gold, Silver Sharpie, Marker, Highlighter, Dictionary Paper, Poster Board. This drawing is filled with random household items that I placed together. The objective of this project was to experiment with drawing from different lengths away. For the background, I covered the poster board with dictionary paper as a backdrop.
For this project, it was a series of paper drawings, for this particular drawing I did a brown paper bag. I used a variety of pencils to create this artwork. The objective of this project was to find the values of a model object (paper bag) and apply values to a blank paper without losing the 3D aspect. I learned to use different shades of pencil and apply this to make creases and shapes.
Solo
This was my linoleum printmaking project, it was a very new and exciting experience. The objective was to capture a feeling and express this feeling in my print. For my work, I expressed the feeling of a dancer on stage and the whole room feels still for that split second. Everything goes quiet and all that be heard is a beating heart. I have never done printmaking before, so I learned how and it was difficult but fun to learn!
This was my anatomy printmaking project. I used ink, linoleum, a carving tool, and a printing press. This was my first experiment with printmaking. This artwork was carving out a skeleton which was harder than I thought. The objective was to create a human body-inspired art project. I learned how to guide a carving tool around edges and to use a printing press.
For this artwork, I used Prisma colors, white charcoal, and black paper. The objective of this project was to show something I am passionate about through a self-portrait. I drew myself and on top of me, I drew a map of Africa. Africa is important to me because I go to Africa for a mission trip every summer. I learned how to draw almost backward because I was drawing highlights instead of shadows.
