Curiosity Mug- I created the totem mug by first starting with a pinch pot. After the pinch pot, I wanted to make it look more like a mug, so I added coils. Also, coils were often used on the mug for details like the eyebrows, lips, and eyelids. When I was sculpting the nose it was pretty hard perfecting the nostrils. The nose ended up being great, when I used the slip on it. The mug came together overall when I added slip. I inspired my artwork because I just wanted to make a random person. I made a random person because I am not that advanced yet to make a real person. It reflects my personal issue with my insecurity about my nose. I wanted my mug to have a perfect nose. I am honestly not trying to give out that much of a message with my mug. I hope people just think it is appealing. My goals were to follow the instructions well, unlike my coil pot. On this mug, I followed the directions as best as I could. By following the directions, I am actually very proud of myself. My mug looks very good and the nose is perfect. I reached my goal in following directions. I learned that I can achieve my goals by also taking my time. I restarted a lot of time on details on the mug. I also restarted on the whole mug. I put a lot of effort into it.
