This artwork was inspired by my passion for running and how being at the track with my team is my favorite place. I tried to make my artwork as detailed as possible to make it seem real.

Sharpie and Acrylic Paint
The class was assigned to draw a self portrait and I wanted to portray that in a way that was unique to me. I chose to use cars to symbolize myself because they are what I am passionate about. I am often hard on myself, and I expressed that in my artwork by drawing three cars, with the middle one being different from the others. I made the middle car cheaper and smaller than the others with warning symbols above it. I did this because I often compare myself to others and put all my energy into pleasing others rather than taking time to take care of myself.

In this artwork, I wanted to try to make it look like there is was a lot of movement and dimension. With only a toilet paper roll to look at, I tried to imagine and draw the ripped squares to have all different shapes and directions.

Relief Printmaking with Ink
This project was especially challenging to me because it was only the second time I had tried printmaking. I had to print in three colors, making new carves and prints each time. Additionally, drawing figures is not something I had much experience doing. I wanted my artwork to make viewers wonder what the man is doing out in the middle of nowhere with the old car and where he might be going.

Using a picture of an old barn I took on my ranch, I made this artwork for the Houston Rodeo. I combined both my own picture and used my own imagination for elements like the truck and the tree. I was challenged in this artwork to go dark with shadows and highlight the bright areas of the picture.

I like this artwork because though the object is not very exciting, the technique I used to shade it and style it makes it interesting. I was not very motivated to draw a paper bag, but I made it my own using abstract ways of creating different shades.
