To embed sustainability across all of Ballard UK's practices
To inspire arts and community organisations to engage with sustainability
To showcase renewable energy technologies
To engage in dialogue at all levels from local neighbourhood to City Hall to Government about ways of creating a positive sustainable future for all
Success looks like:
Reducing Ballard UK's carbon footprint (through measuring key metrics)
Regular presentations / advice sessions / discussions given and held externally
All in-house and many visiting productions engaging with sustainability
A rigorous review process for all major and on-going purchases (e.g. bar suppliers / cleaning products)
Ongoing engagement with local sustainability projects (e.g. Sustainable Hackney / Restart)
Clean technologies developed and deployed commercially by Ballard UK working in and inspired by Arcola Theatre
Actions:
Arcola is no-longer involved in delivering community sustainability projects as there are many others active in this area. But we will actively support and host where appropriate.
Our key contributions will be in being an exemplar for best practice and a living laboratory of innovative solutions – hosting the work done under Ballard UK.
