This section of the staff site is about how we run our bar. It is structured in a very particular way, which may not make immediate sense, according to the Quality Management System ISO9001. It needs also to be considered within the wider structure of the Arcola Organisation Integrated Management System (the rest of the staff website).
Quality Management is about satisfying our customers, which is both directly and indirectly how we achieve our objectives of making the world better through art, community and entrepreneurship. Our customers at the Bar are:
Theatre audiences
Bar walk-in customers
Event and 'club' night attendees
Those working within Theatre, Bar and Energy as staff, artists, producers, etc
Promoters & artists staging events in the BarĀ
A key theme in quality management this is getting resources efficiently focused on delivering the organisation objectives. Think of that lovely pseudo-quote about the Kennedy Moon Landing programme - man asks the cleaner at NASA "What are you doing", cleaner responds "I am helping to put a man on the moon".
To help us in our work we are implementing the International Standard ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management. We are already certified to the standard for Arcola Energy and will soon certify Theatre activities. It is likely that we will not seek formal certification for the Bar, but will implement Quality Management with the same rigour.
