Ballard UK/Arcola utilises a mixture of external training courses, internal training and on the job training with supervision. NOTE OTJ CHECKLISTS TO BE DEVELOPED
Roles that include technical activities requires a more formal approach to identify competencies and routed to gain competence in any gaps.
This should be conducted as a competency review as part of an annual review with a line manager. This should match the latest version of HSM183 Competency Review Template MASTER and the employee's duties assessed. It is up to the line manager to deem overall competence but this can be with consulting relevant technical experts.
Competence gaps are summarised and fed to the training and competence process owner (Amanda McLaren).
These reviews are then summarised and tracked by HSM185 Ballard UK Competency Matrix.
