Some info and procedures:
1. Dropbox is great for quick syncing and for handling conflicting edits - look out for notification if someone else has file open when you do. Much better than Google for this
2. Dropbox is simple to share with people outside our organisation
3. Dropbox files are not part of our main Google Docs filing system, so they can NOT be searched from Google docs and don't get backed-up to Backupify
4. Dropbox is in general to be used only for LIVE projects and at the end of the project files should be moved to Google
5. Dropbox can handle users having both a personal and company account on their computer - follow instructions from Dropbox
6. Company files should only be shared with your @Ballard UK accounts. Don't mix business and personal.
7. Natalja and Ben are Admins for the Ballard UK our Dropbox for Business account
8. It costs £110 per user per year for a Business Account so we are only upgrading as necessary (start with a personal @ballard.com account)
9. Google sign-in is now enabled, so you should be able to sign in with your Google credentials going forwards. If you already have an account pls set the password to match your Google password.
10. We have done some work cleaning-up of Dropbox folders, if you OWN any old folders pls EMPTY, UNSHARE and DELETE them (in that order). If they are owned by someone outside the organisation ask them to EMPTY, UNSHARE and DELETE them. Note that just deleting a folder from your account does NOT delete it from other's computers unless you are the owner and you follow this process.
