Physics - Momentum,
Impulse and Collisions

Twelfth-grade physics students recently engaged in a hands-on activity that showcased their creativity and understanding of system dynamics. The task involved designing personalized marble run systems, where students meticulously defined constraints, conditions, collisions, and input/output parameters. Through this activity, they gained valuable insights into system modeling, illustrating the intricate interactions and diverse input/output scenarios across multiple trials. The students took their project a step further by organizing the data collected into a detailed input/output map. This crucial step in the process allowed them to visually represent and analyze the relationships between various inputs and outputs, providing a comprehensive overview of their marble run systems

Flex Day Cycle 3 Launch

We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our 3rd cycle of Flex Day as it marks a pivotal step in preparing our students for Global Leadership and future readiness.

During Flex Day, our students actively assume leadership roles, with 18 primary mentors guiding their peers and 10 student-led workshops, all under the mentorship of our dedicated teachers. In a significant development, our 8th graders are currently immersed in the enriching Global Leadership program, led by the renowned Dale Carnegie, as part of their Career and College Advancement Workshop.

This Flex Day cycle also introduced exciting new workshops, including Woodshop, Ai: The Magic of Prompts, Discovering Your PC, and Power in Influence providing our students with diverse and engaging learning opportunities. We look forward to the continued success and growth of our Flex Day initiatives, fostering a dynamic environment that nurtures leadership and innovation among our students.

Scientists on the Rise!

We are thrilled about the dynamic and immersive science program offered at our Secondary School! This week, our students have actively participated in hands-on activities aimed at deepening their understanding of various scientific concepts.

In the realm of Chemistry, students have delved into the intricacies of concentration, solubility, and their correlation with the Collision Theory, elucidating the factors contributing to successful chemical reactions. Employing a simulation, they not only grasped these concepts but also extended their mathematical reasoning in the context of concentration and solubility.

The Physical Science cohort embarked on a simulation journey to unravel the nuances of gravitational force between two objects, meticulously examining the impact of mass and distance on this fundamental force.

Meanwhile, in the Anatomy and Physiology class, a fascinating exploration unfolded as students dissected a cow's eye during their unit on the Nervous System & Senses. This hands-on experience enabled them to scrutinize the intricate structure of the eye, fostering insightful comparisons between the ocular anatomy of a cow and that of a human.

Parent School: New Enhanced Behavioral Expectations

Dear Secondary Parents,

We invite you to join us for an important parent-school meeting on January 25th! Our Director General is excited to introduce the new behavioral guidelines tthat will positively impact our community.

Your presence and participation are highly valued. Together, we can make a positive impact on our school community.

Summer Programs

The American University of Paris

AUP invites advanced high-school aged students aged 16 and over to apply to Summer School to take part in our university-level courses. Our Summer School courses take place during three different sessions, two three-week sessions in the months of June and July, and a six-week session that spans both months. Whichever session students choose, they will find fascinating Art History, Fine Arts, and Fashion courses, as well as French Immersion classes during our June and July three-week sessions and Creative Writing workshops in July.

For every course, students have the choice of enrolling for transferable university credit or just for fun (audit) at a reduced price. Students may visit our summer website for more information or to apply for Summer 2024.
