Sports Yearbook Photos

ANS has so much to celebrate across our after school sports programs as around 500 young athletes in a wide range of disciplines practice with us every week.  Our yearbook section is a cause for much joy in the community as we recognize all the hard work and sacrifice of our student athletes.

Photos for the athletics section of this year's yearbook will be taking place next week using the schedule below, and we want to encourage all who are desirous of having their child be in the yearbook to ensure that their child is here on the day and time that corresponds to their practice groups.

For these photos we are asking that all non varsity team students use their PE uniform, with varsity groups required to attend their photo schedule in their official game uniform.

We are unfortunately unable to reschedule or do retakes, so it is important that everyone be present on the day and time that corresponds to their activity.

Our Yearbook is such a cause for joy among our community and we are excited to be able to showcase all of our young athletes there.

ATHLETICS STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

Elías Gemmel

Elías Gemmell Almanza (5th Grade) has roared to the top with his 5th consecutive Nicaraguan Tennis Tournament Championship in the U12 category!

This weekend he participated in the Vitalit Open at Club Terraza, an event with over 60 child athletes. Elías displayed his tiger stripes on the court with passion and perserverance, coming from behind in the Vitalit Open, Elias finds himself in a 5 Tournament winning streak.  Congratulations to Elias Gemmell Almanza not only demonstrating his fortitude under duress and respect for his opponents but also representing ANS in victory!

MOTIVATION

Success is never final, failure is never fatal.
It's courage that counts.

Coaching Information

Firstly, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Henry Alvarado for his remarkable dedication and service as the Head Coach of our boys varsity soccer team, a role he has stepped away from after our recent AASCA Soccer participation.  Mr. Alvarado has significantly contributed to our community and will continue to be an integral part of the boys varsity team, and with his work across the age group levels within our program.

With the above in mind we are excited to announce Mr. Sting Lopez as the new Head Coach of our Boys Soccer team. Mr. Lopez brings a wealth of experience from the professional game, including helping to lead Managua FC to a National Championship, and he holds a CONCACAF 'A' License from the National Federation of Costa Rica.

His alignment with our sporting vision and the values underscored in our school's vision and mission makes him an exceptional fit for our program.

With the support of our incredible community we are sure that Mr. Lopez will enjoy great success as he works to achieve our sporting and educational objectives for the boys varsity program in the coming months.

ANS is privileged to have amazing professional teachers and coaches for our sports and PE programs and we are sure that Mr. Sting Lopez will prove to be another one for the list.

When we think of our athletic staff no one is loved more than Mr. Jose Jesús Brenes (‘Mr. Pepe’) and we were delighted to welcome him back to campus this week after three long months away.

While he still has a long road of physical therapy relating to his injuries from the event that befell him to come, he is happy to be back and counts upon the support of us all for this process.

Pepe’s return has been a cause for much joy and he has been warmly received by teachers, staff and students of all ages.

Mr. Pepe, we missed you and are delighted to have you back!
