Math Parent Schools (K - 2nd)

This week, kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers welcomed parents to our lower elementary math parent school! This parent school was an opportunity for parents to engage in the math strategies that their children are learning in school, understand how it builds their conceptual understanding, in addition to learning how to best support their child at home. Thank you so much to all the parents who were able to attend for your continued effort in strengthening our school-home partnership.

Primary Extracurricular Program Kicks Off

The American Nicaraguan School buzzed with energy yesterday as the Primary Extracurricular Program (PEP) kicked off its first day, introducing a diverse range of activities aimed at enriching the after-school experience for our primary students.

PEP, launched on Wednesday, January 17th, is a dynamic extracurricular initiative designed to provide students with unique opportunities for exploration and skill development outside of their regular academic routine and is not sports based. The program offers an array of engaging activities catering to varied interests, ensuring every student finds something that resonates with their passion with offerings ranging from dance to Italian language and culture to robotics. As we embark on this exciting journey with PEP, we look forward to witnessing the growth, creativity, and joy that these extracurricular activities will bring to the primary students of ANS.

New Parent Orientation

On Thursday, January 18th, we hosted a special New Parent Orientation to introduce our newest Preschool and Kindergarten families to the vibrant ANS community. The event provided a warm and informative welcome, offering the opportunity for new parents to connect with key figures within our educational community. Administrators, counselors, and our dedicated parent liaisons were on hand to extend a friendly greeting and share valuable insights into the ANS experience.

Parents had the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with administrators, gaining a deeper understanding of the school's vision, mission, and commitment to providing an exceptional educational journey for their children. The Athletics Director highlighted the exciting opportunities available in our athletic programs, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and teamwork.

The event also shed light on our research-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program, underlining ANS's dedication to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the emotional intelligence and well-being of our students. New families gained insights into how SEL is woven into the fabric of our curriculum, fostering a supportive and emotionally enriching learning environment.

Early childhood programming took center stage, with parents learning about the innovative approaches and developmentally appropriate practices embedded in ANS's Preschool and Kindergarten curriculum. The orientation aimed not only to inform but to assure families that their children are entering an educational environment where they will thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of these connections as we embark on a shared journey of learning, growth, and community at ANS.

Hungry Tiger

We're thrilled to introduce the upcoming two-week menu at the Hungry Tiger! Our students have been savoring these delicious and nutritious meals all week.

At the Hungry Tiger, we prioritize balanced nutrition, and we invite you to sign up for our cafeteria app if you haven't already. It's a convenient way to fund your child's account, ensuring daily access to their favorite meals. As part of our commitment to fostering healthy eating habits, we kindly request that students finish their meals before considering snacks.

We're pleased to inform you that recent app issues have been resolved. You can now sign up with confidence at www.hungrytiger.app. Please note that charges from the past 10 days will be deducted from your child's account upon activation.

Let's continue to provide our students with not only great food and wonderful memories but also a strong emphasis on healthy choices. Join us today and embark on culinary adventures together!
